About Heights Little Artists

A calm, creative place for Houston Heights kids

Founder Zubair Parkar holding paint brushes

Heights Little Artists was created by Zubair Parkar for children who love to make with their hands — and for parents looking for a more thoughtful, small-group art experience close to home.

After growing up in art classes himself, Zubair built this program around the kind of experience that helps children flourish: real materials, gentle guidance, room to explore, and finished work they are excited to carry home.

Weekly groups stay intentionally small so young artists can move at an age-appropriate pace and families know what to expect before class begins.

Parent communication: families receive clear details before class, including materials, what to wear, and whether a program is drop-off or parent-accompanied.

Parent questions

Questions parents usually ask.

What ages are the classes for?

Most classes are designed for children ages 4–12. Groups may be organized by age so younger and older artists can work at an appropriate pace.

How often do classes meet?

The 4-week and 6-week programs meet once per week. Exact days and times are shared before registration.

How many kids are in each group?

Groups are intentionally small, usually 4–6 children, so each child receives individual attention.

Do kids take something home?

Yes — children bring home finished artwork across the weekly program, from watercolor paintings to Lego block prints and clay animals or toys.

Are supplies included?

Yes. All standard materials are included.

Where are classes held?

Classes are based in the Houston Heights area. Specific location details can be shared with registered families.

Do you offer private groups?

Yes. Private Art Pods are available for siblings, friends, neighbors, homeschool groups, and small celebrations.

Do you offer birthday parties?

Yes. Birthday art parties and private creative workshops are available.

Is this a drop-off class?

Drop-off or parent-accompanied depends on the child’s age and the specific program. We share that clearly before registration opens.

What should kids wear?

Kids should wear clothes that can get messy. Art-making is hands-on.

What if my child is new to art?

That’s completely fine. These classes are designed to build confidence, curiosity, and enjoyment — no previous art experience needed.
